Welcome to Outreach at Clare
Clare welcomes students from across all educational and socioeconomic backgrounds and is proud to be known as one of the most diverse, inclusive, and friendly Colleges in Cambridge.
Outreach at Clare is led by Ed Turner (Tutor for Access and Outreach) and Libby Beckett (Schools Liaison Officer). We work to encourage young people from backgrounds historically underrepresented at Cambridge to aim high when thinking about university. We meet many students who will be among the first in their family to attend university, whose school has little or no experience of sending students to Oxbridge, and who worry that they would not fit in at Cambridge. With the support of our Student Ambassadors and the whole Clare community, we work to show students that there is no blueprint for the ideal Cambridge student and that all bright, motivated and enthusiastic young people are welcome at Clare, regardless of who they are or where they come from. We hope that many of the students we work with will go on to apply to the top universities, including Cambridge, and we offer a comprehensive programme of support to students and their teachers and advisors at all stages of the application process.
