Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Post-1800 US History. My primary research interests include U.S. culture, politics, and religion during the twentieth century. I completed a MA in Church-State Studies and PhD in History at Baylor University. For the 2025-2026 academic year, I am convening T15: The United States since World War I, offering lectures in O9 and RP5, and teaching in the Historical Thinking sequence at Clare. I also supervise undergraduate dissertations and American History MPhil students. In 2021 I published Open Hearts, Closed Doors: Immigration Reform and the Waning of Mainline Protestantism with NYU Press and am currently working on a book project on Christian nationalism in the United States during the 1950s.
