Submitting an Application

All applications for postgraduate study must be made directly to the University. Full details of the application process are available on the University’s Postgraduate Admissions website. Please bear in mind that application and funding deadlines vary by course.

Offer of Admission

Departments and Faculties will make the initial decision as to whether they will recommend an applicant for admission to a course. Once a formal academic offer of admission has been made, the University Postgraduate Admissions Office will send the offer-holder’s application to the colleges for consideration for membership.

Two College Choices

You can indicate two college choices on your initial application to the University for postgraduate study. If you would like to be considered for membership of Clare you should designate Clare as one of your preferred colleges in your application.

Postgraduate Community

Clare admits approximately 100 postgraduate students every year. The college limits its postgraduate numbers in order to be able to offer accommodation to all postgraduates who request it. The total postgraduate community in Clare at any given time is about 300 students. If you are planning to apply to start your course in Lent or Easter terms, please contact the Postgraduate Officer (graduates@clare.cam.ac.uk) for further information on selecting Clare as your preferred college.
