Biography

I am a historian of nineteenth-century Britain and Oceania, specialising in the history of evangelical Christianity, medicine, print culture, and imperial and missionary histories in Aotearoa New Zealand and the wider South Pacific. My current research focuses on the evangelical revival and children’s literature in nineteenth-century Britain.

Before joining Clare as a Junior Research Fellow in October 2023, I studied for a PhD at the University of Cambridge as a Harding Distinguished Postgraduate Scholar. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Otago in Aotearoa New Zealand.
