Maciej Dunajski

Professor of Mathematical Physics, Clare Fellow and Graduate Tutor Maciej Dunajski has been awarded the top prize from The Gravity Research Foundation.

Each year the competition offers five awards for short essays for stimulating thought and encouraging work on the phenomenon of gravitation.

Professor Dunajski's award winning essay Equivalence principle, de-Sitter space, and cosmological twistors explores the apparent contradiction between the laws of gravitation governing the expanding Universe, and the rules of quantum mechanics. The proposed resolution uses the mathematics of twistor theory.
