Congratulations to the eight Clare students who have been awarded Instrumental Awards as part of the University’s Chamber Music Scheme following auditions at the start of term.

The Instrumental Awards for Chamber Music Scheme (IAS) enables students to participate in high-quality chamber music at the University. Award holders comprise outstanding chamber musicians from across the University, and many follow in the footsteps of their predecessors to pursue professional careers as performers.

The scheme provides opportunities for performances throughout the year, with selected groups chosen to perform in showcase concerts and special projects. These performances enable students to develop musically as individuals and as chamber groups.

For another year running, Clare continues its unbroken record of boasting more Instrumental Award Holders than any other Cambridge College.

This year's winners are:

  • Horn players Daniel Blaze and Isaac Chan
  • Violinist/viola player Daphne Delfas
  • Cellist Raphael Herberg
  • Viola player Julius Kiln
  • Violinist Jacqueline Seki
  • Pianists Daniel Liu and Lilly Vadaneaux
