The Final of the Clare College Song Competition 2023 took place on Wednesday 1 March 2023, adjudicated by tenor James Gilchrist, violinist and leader of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Margaret Faultless, soprano and Clare singing teacher Nicola-Jane Kemp, and Clare Director of Music Graham Ross.

Four duos from across the University took part in the Final, which was was the culmination of two earlier rounds.  The First Prize was won by soprano Katherine Gregory (Newnham) and pianist Madeleine Brown (Trinity).

The day also saw a wonderful public Masterclass for seven duos from across the University, given by internationally-renowned tenor James Gilchrist.

The Clare College Song Competition takes place every other year, focusing on the performance of Art Song, open to all undergraduates studying at Cambridge University.

Congratulations to all that took part!
