Biography

Roger came to Clare in 1957 to read Natural Sciences.  He gained his doctorate in 1964 on the "Cellular function in the salivary gland" and became a Fellow of the college in 1962. He continued his research in physiology (histology) using electron microscopy, publishing numerous papers and contributed to three text books together with E Glasby and C Huang. In 1996 Roger produced an integrated histology course aided by videos. He lectured on Respiration, Digestion, Blood Clotting and the Kidney.  Roger supervised for several colleges, including Clare.

He was Graduate Tutor for nine years from 1978-87.
