Kirsty Ferguson

Biography
Kirsty undertook her undergraduate and Masters studies in Natural Sciences at University of Cambridge. She completed her PhD at the Centre for Regenerative Medicine, University of Edinburgh, in the lab of Professor Steve Pollard. Her PhD focused on the neurodevelopmental transcription factors driving cancer stem cells in an aggressive adult brain cancer called glioblastoma. She is currently a Research Associate in Professor Anna Philpott’s group at the Wellcome-MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. Here she is researching the mechanisms controlling proliferation and differentiation in the childhood cancer neuroblastoma, with the aim of improving differentiation therapies.
