Clare alumnus helps steer UK growth strategy

Matt Clifford (2004) is co-founder of Entrepreneur First, connecting and linking exceptional individuals with potential co-founders, and social enterprise Code First Girls, providing skills and confidence for women to become future tech leaders.

He is currently chair of the new Advanced Research and Invention Agency, and will steer work on digital technology that will support economic growth and increased productivity across the UK.

At Clare, Matt was President of the Union of Clare Students, founder of Clare Politics, and served on the Clare Alumni Council. He was awarded an MBE in 2016 for services to business.
