The Role
The role of Head of Health & Safety is a senior leadership role, crucial to College life with a wide ranging remit. Reporting directly to the Bursar, this role makes a vital contribution to the smooth running of the College, through collaboration across a varied and diverse community, and a large estate.
As well as managing the Fire Porter, the Head of Health & Safety is responsible for supporting the Bursar in ensuring the health and safety of all internal and external members of the College.

Located in the heart of Cambridge city centre, the College is extraordinarily beautiful and famed for its gardens on “the Backs” (the famous backs of the Colleges that overlook the River Cam). Our gardens are widely renowned as some of the best in Cambridge and are valued by all members of the College, as well as our guests. Clare’s Old Court, a Grade I listed building, is the centre of the College and is unique among the ancient Cambridge Colleges in having maintained its architectural integrity over the course of its history.
Salary and Benefits
The annual salary for this 60% FTE post will be between £21,185 to £23,755 p.a. (100% FTE £35,308 to £39,592).In addition to this, the post holder would be eligible for a bonus every year and meals on duty when the kitchens and open.
