The Role

To supervise and organise pantry, cafe and buttery staff, delivering a highly efficient and excellent quality of service in respect of the service of food and beverages at all College internal and external functions together with ancillary services. Deputising for Front of House Manager as required.

This is a wonderful opportunity to work for the second oldest of the 31 Colleges in the University of Cambridge. Located in the heart of Cambridge city centre, the College is extraordinarily beautiful and famed for its gardens on “the Backs” (the famous backs of the Colleges that overlook the River Cam). Our gardens are widely renowned as some of the best in Cambridge and are valued by all members of the College, as well as our guests. Clare’s Old Court, a Grade I listed building, is the centre of the College and is unique among the ancient Cambridge Colleges in having maintained its architectural integrity over the course of its history. 

Salary and Benefits

The annual salary will be up to £30,223 DOE. In addition to the basic salary the post holder would be eligible for a bonus every year, meals on duty and will have access to various other benefits, details of which are below. We also offer membership of the NEST pension contribution scheme and parking.  

 

The contract will be for a fixed term of 8 months or on the return of the post-holder whichever is the soonest.
