The G R Elton Studentship: Studies related to History

The G R Elton Postgraduate Scholarship in early modern British and/or early modern European history is intended to provide full funding for a graduate student who has been approved for a course of studies leading to a PhD degree in the Cambridge Faculty of History.

All candidates are eligible to be considered for the Scholarship, which will cover the University Composition Fee and maintenance for up to 3 years on the Home student level.  Overseas students will need to find additional funding to cover the difference in fees between Home and Overseas students.

Applicants for the Studentship need not select Clare College as their College of first choice on the Application Form for Graduate Study (GRADSAF), but they should be prepared to transfer to Clare College if offered the Studentship. The successful student will be expected to pursue his or her studies as a graduate member of Clare College

Eligible candidates applying for a PhD will be identified by the Faculty of History, and so do not need to make a separate application for this Scholarship.
