Clare College Cambridge

College Research Associate Scheme 2021-22

The College Research Associate Scheme offers short-term collegiate affiliation to postdoctoral researchers and others in similar posts in Cambridge who would like a college association of some kind but do not have one.  They are normally expected to be available to assist with the College's teaching and should not hold similar memberships at other colleges.  They are elected for one year at a time.

The criteria for selection to the scheme include academic excellence, the College's need for teaching in particular areas, and the applicant’s ability to contribute to College life. The offer is made in the expectation that the College Research Associate will reciprocate by supervising for the College or running a College event, if required.  Supervision will be paid at the usual rate.

College Research Associates are offered dining rights, access to the College's sports facilities and gardens, and occasional use of College public rooms.

Applications are invited from academics in all fields, but are particularly welcome in the following subjects:

  • Philosophy
  • Materials Science
  • Mathematics
  • Mathematics for Natural Sciences
  • Engineering Part I, in particular Communications, Structures and Mechanics
  • Chemistry

Applications should be made using the forms provided in the link below, and should be sent by email to Sophie King, Fellowship Administrator, srk35@cam.ac.uk. They should arrive no later than Monday 29 March 2021.
