Forbes Mellon Library Student Invigilators


A small team of Clare College students are employed as evening/weekend invigilators in the Forbes Mellon Library. Invigilators are based at the library enquiry desk, carry out their own academic work and are available to support students with using the library. Invigilators work closely with the library staff and help to maintain a welcoming and supportive study environment.

Each invigilator works a regular single weekly shift during term time and may be asked to volunteer for additional shifts during Easter vacation. Invigilators are not permitted to work for more than 6 hours per week during term.

Clare College students wishing to be considered for the post of library invigilator must have the right to work in the UK and must be:

Postgraduate or undergraduate in 4th year or above, with extensive experience of studying in the Forbes Mellon Library, and a good knowledge of how the library operates

Responsible and reliable, with good timekeeping skills

A good communicator: able to communicate with students, library staff and other members of College

Available to work a regular one evening/weekend shift per week during term
