Reddaway Fellow in Economics
Director of Studies in Economics
Senior College Teaching Officer
I am currently the Reddaway Fellow, as well as a Senior College Teaching Officer and Director of Studies, in Economics at Clare. Prior to this, I was a College Teaching Officer and Director of Studies in Economics at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge (2001-09), and a Research Associate at the Department of Applied Economics, Cambridge (2001-04). I also serve as a co-editor of the Cambridge Journal of Economics and am a Research Fellow of the Judge Business School.
My research is broadly concerned with issues of social ontology, drawing particularly on the work of realist social theorists such as Roy Bhaskar, Tony Lawson and others. I have published on various topics in fields such as Economics, Management and Information Systems, most recently focusing on, first, the nature of digital technology, and second, the nature of uncertainty, probability and decision-making under conditions of extreme uncertainty. My teaching focuses primarily on areas of Microeconomics.
