Information

Please note, the below information relates to all ceremonies except General Admission and MA Degrees. For information relating to these, please follow the links on the right hand side.

Registering for Ceremonies

Please register for your ceremony using the graduations tab in your CamSIS self-service portal. Please note, although this registration enrols you to the Senate House ceremony, you may still need to fill out an RSVP form for the College's graduation event. Please see the above table to ascertain if there is a separate RSVP form needed.

In Person or In Absence

Registering for a ceremony in person means that you will attend the Senate House and be presented by the Praelector. Registering for a ceremony in absence means that you will be awarded your degree at the ceremony without your being present at Senate House. Please note, as guests are once again present in Senate House, normal operations in regards to attendance have resumed. From now on, students who choose to graduate in absence are not in person cannot then attend an in person ceremony for the same degree. This is because degrees can only be conferred once.

Academic Dress

The University's information on academic dress can be found here. Please ensure that you read this information, order gowns in good time, and abide by the guidelines set out. Graduands who are deemed by the Senate House Constables to be improperly dressed may not be allowed inside.

Guests

The College encourages you to invite guests to celebrate achieving your degrees and does not impose a limit on the number you may bring. However, please note that graduands are only given 2 guest tickets for the Senate House for the ceremony. In some cases, students do not use their full allocation of Senate house tickets, leading to spare tickets in the College. Therefore, if you would like additional tickets to the Senate House ceremony, please email Yuanyuan Zhu yz775@cam.ac.uk and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
