Career Opportunities

The course provides you with excellent preparation for a wide range of Masters and doctoral research programmes in education and in the social sciences and humanities at Cambridge and elsewhere. The new Education degree is designed to prepare you for contemporary employment opportunities in a wide range of careers relating to education. These include: working in educational, cultural and economic development policy and administration in international, national and local government, charities and community organisations; working in the creative and performing arts world, museums and other cultural agencies; educational journalism and the media; and, a range of psychological and psychology-related careers working with children, youth and adults. For those intending to teach, depending on your choice of papers, the course provides a foundation from which to proceed to some postgraduate initial teacher training courses. Education students wishing to continue to graduate studies can remain at Clare College, and a number of Education students have taken that option through to Masters and doctoral level work.
