Clare College Cambridge

Visits to your School

If your school lies within one of our Link Areas then the SLO will be happy to come out to see you and run workshops, information sessions and activities with your students. We also firmly believe in ensuring teachers are equipped to answer questions about Cambridge and the admissions process, so we are happy to run training sessions for staff as well.

For a full list of available activities please see the Activities page, although if you have something particular in mind we can either adapt an existing acitivity (all of which are tailored to the age of the group, their ability etc.) or come up with something brand new.

Sessions can last anywhere from 30 minutes to a whole day and the SLO is happy to work with students of any age. We are particularly interested in working with more Primary Schools, so if you are teaching at one in Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Coventry or Warwickshire please get in touch.

If you give us enought notice then we may be able to bring a fellow and/or current undergraduates to your school - just ask the SLO. In particular, we have a group of fellows who will go out to schools and talk about their subject: for more details contact the SLO.

Access Bus

Every year, the college runs an 'Access Bus' to the Greater Manchester and Warwickshire areas. This takes the form of groups of three of four of our current undergraduates who visit two or three schools each day over the course of a week, giving presentations and generally trying to talk to as many school students as possible about university life. This year, we visited 21 schools in Stockport and Greater Manchester, and 19 schools in Coventry and Warwickshire. Access Bus 2010 is likely to take place towards the end of March. The 2010 Access Bus will visit schools in the following regions:

  • Coventry
  • Warwickshire
  • Manchester
  • Stockport

If you would like your school to be included in the timetable then please contact the SLO.
