Clare College Cambridge

The Fellows' Library

The College, the second oldest in Cambridge, possesses a library of approximately 6000 volumes including some manuscripts and incunabula. Its early printed holdings are noted in H.M.Adams Catalogue of books and the Short-title catalogue. In 1971 the College received a bequest of bird books from the Reverend F.I.Wane. These have been deposited as a named collection in the Cambridge University Library.

The Fellows' Library is currently closed to enquiries and research visits. It is likely that most of the collection will remain unavailable for consultation until September 2020. A small part of the collection may be accessible from October 2018 and more information on this will be available from October 2018.
