Senior Development Officer/Development Officer

We are looking for a Senior Development Officer/Development Officer to join our very successful Development Office in the New Year.   This is a key role in maintaining and enhancing the relations between the College, its members, and other potential supporters, encouraging a steady growth of support for Clare College annually.  The role manages the Annual Fund, Telethon Campaign, and helps with the College's legacy programme (Samuel Blythe Society).  The postholder also oversees a portfolio of donors and prospects to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward as appropriate.  Other key areas will include managing the growth and stewardship of the Friends of Clare Music scheme.

The successful applicant will have a track record in managing regular giving programmes and telephone fundraising campaigns ideally gained within a Higher Education context.  You will have strong written communication and numeracy skills, the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.  You will possess patience, tact and political sensitivity needed to manage relationships within College and with its external supporters.

The usual hours of work are 8.45 am to 5 pm (36.25 hours per week), but flexibility for evening and weekend work is required (eg alumni events and running the annual telethon campaign). 

The salary for this post is between £27,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience.  There will be the standard six month probationary period.  The post holder will be eligible to join the College's contributory pension scheme after three month's service and will be enrolled into Medicash which is a cash plan that enable you to claim back some of the cost of your eveyday healthcare costs such as eye tests, dental and prescriptions as well as some complimentary therapies.  The College also provides a subsidised lunch for staff.
