Other Library Services
Photocopying
- The photocopier is situated in the library downstairs computer room.
- Use your University card. Before you can make any copies your card has to be encoded. Undergraduate cards are done before you arrive. Graduates need to ask a member of staff to do this.
- Any replacement cards will need to be encoded.
- Insert your card into the value loader on the wall beside the copier and charge it with cash (20p, 50p, £1 & £2 coins only) up to the value of £10.
- Insert your card into the unit attached to the copier. The cost will be deducted from your balance as you copy.
NB: The terms of the Copyright Notice Agreement are displayed beside the copier.
Non-Book and Specialist Material
- An articulated skeleton is available for use in the library.
- First year medical students can borrow a half-skeleton and skull for the year.
- A model brain is also available for use in the library.
- Engineering crib sheets are available in the Engineering section at the end of the Term in which they are issued and must not be removed from the library.
- A DVD collection, including foreign films and light entertainment, a CD collection of classical music and an audio book collection; are all available.
Computing
- The computers are managed by the University Computing Service.
- There is Lapwing throughout the library for using laptops.
- There are two computer rooms in the library, one upstairs (UCR) with colour printing and a scanner and one downstairs (DCR) with a black and white printer and a scanner.
- There are two PCs and a printer in the Turpin Law Reading Room.
Printing and Scanning
- Printing is done using the Common Balance scheme.
NB: Select which printer you would prefer from the dropdown menu.
Sales and Services
- Transparencies for photocopying.
- Blank CDs.
- Lamination (office hours only)
- Comb binding (office hours only)
- Fax machine to send and receive faxes (01223-765560)
- Small items of equipment (such as a long-arm stapler and a heavy-duty hole punch and stapler)
