Clare College Cambridge

MA Ceremony

MA Ceremony, Saturday 23 March 2019

If you hold a Cambridge BA, you may proceed to the MA not less than six years from the end of your first term of residence, providing that you have held your BA degree for at least two years.

The next MA ceremony will take place on Saturday 23 March 2019, and graduates that are eligible to attend would normally be all those that matriculated in 2012.

You need to enrol for the ceremony by accessing CamSIS through the extended self-service (https://www.cambridgestudents.cam.ac.uk/new-students/manage-your-student-information/student-record/camsis/ess).  You will be able to add yourself to the ceremony in Person or Absentia.  If you have any problems with this process please let us know.

If you think that you are eligible, and you haven't heard from us, or you think we may not have your latest contact information, please do contact us.

(Trinitarian Formula: If you wish the Vice-Chancellor to omit the religious formula, please could you indicate this in the 'notes' section of the online form.  Please note that the Vice-Chancellor has ruled, with the assent of the Syndicate, that such dispensation will only be given on the grounds of genuine religious conviction.)

To avoid the risk of guest tickets getting lost in the post or them being mislaid, tickets will be in an envelope marked in the graduand’s name at the Old Court Porters Lodge.   It is most important that guests arrive at the Senate House by the time above so please ensure that your guests collect their tickets in plenty of time. The Senate House will be very helpful if any guest has mobility difficulties but please could you let me know and they will need to arrive at the Senate House slightly earlier.

Unfortunately, parking will not be available at the College as this is a large event.  Please could you make arrangements to park in the city or at a park and ride.

Dress Regulations can be found here.   Please note you should not wear your undergraduate gown to the MA ceremony.  The general rule for graduates of Cambridge University is to wear the gown and hood of the highest degree which you have already received from Cambridge.  For example, if your last degree was your BA at Cambridge you will wear the BA gown and hood.  If you have obtained any other degrees please refer to the dress regulations link above.

Gown collectionPlease note that Ede & Ravenscroft allow collection from the Emmanuel United Reform Church 1.30-5.30pm the day before or from 8.30am on the day.  Ryder & Amies allow collection from the shop the day before or from 8.30am on the day.
