Access to Higher Education
Clare College is committed to encouraging young people to apply to university, regardless of their school or background. Our aim is to raise students’ aspirations and inspire them to achieve their full academic potential. We work hard to convey this message to young people at all stages of their education, from Primary School to Sixth Form, by offering a comprehensive programme of activities designed to provide a taster of life at university and a view of the vast range of possibilities which a university education brings.
We also want to ensure that no student is discouraged from applying to us because of the many myths which surround the University of Cambridge - ranging from the costs of study to the quality of the nightlife. In order to do this we provide extensive support for schools and sixth-form students with our applications and interview process, as well as introducing potential applicants to the thriving, dynamic and stimulating student community of Cambridge.
Our Schools Liaison Officers welcome school groups to Clare throughout the year, as well as visiting schools to talk to students or run workshops.
Clare College admits talented students from all parts of the UK and internationally, and we welcome enquiries from schools throughout the country. Clare’s wide-ranging schools programme comprises
- activities for primary schools
- activities for secondary schools
- visits to Cambridge
- visits to your school
We are also happy to arrange a bespoke event for your school: please contact the Schools Liaison Officers.
