In the 2022 admissions cycle, 75% of Clare's offers to UK applicants were made to students from state schools and colleges.

Clare welcomes students from across all educational and socioeconomic backgrounds and is proud to be known as one of the most diverse, inclusive, and friendly Colleges in Cambridge. Our students join us from all across the UK and the rest of the world.

We are committed to making Cambridge more accessible to the most talented students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

Outreach at Clare is led by Libby Beckett (Outreach and Admissions Officer), Emma Lézé (Schools Liaison Officer) and Ed Turner (Tutor for Access and Outreach).

We work to encourage intelligent, inquisitive students from historically underrepresented backgrounds to apply to the most competitive universities, including Cambridge. We work closely with schools with lower rates of progression to universities such as Oxford and Cambridge to equip students and teachers with accurate information on topics ranging from making a competitive UCAS application to the generous financial support on offer at Cambridge.

Our work includes day visits for schools, webinars and online programmes, two annual residentials, and events for teachers and advisors. Under the University's Area Links Scheme, we work particularly closely with schools in Coventry, Warwickshire, and the London Boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
