What proportion of meat bought by the College is Halal meat?

  • The College does not track this information.  The College responds to specific requests regarding special dietary requirements including for Halal meat.

Does the College label its Halal meat when serving it to students and/or does it ensure the students are aware of when they are eating Halal meat?

  • The College responds to specific requests regarding special dietary requirements, and it has informed all students and/or guests when Halal meat was being served to them.

 

Choir

 

How does the College (Chapel) Choir obtain its funding?

  • The Choir covers its expenditure of external activities principally from concert fees, but it is supported by benefactions for singing lessons, some specific restricted endowments, and a general Friends subscription fund.

How much funding has the Choir received from the College and/or Benefactors?

  • Income for the Fund is received from donations, touring, concert fees, recording fees, broadcasts, and CD sales. The Fund covers all expenses apart from the Choir administrator, who is paid for by the College. The salary of the Choir administrator is exempt under section 40(2) and (3), Freedom of Information Act 2000.

What benefits do members of the Choir receive? 

  • Members of the Choir all receive free singing lessons, free master classes, free dining on a Sunday evening and free accommodation outside of term when required.  When travelling abroad they are provided with per diems (daily expenses).

  • The College does not track this information.  Funds are provided to the UCS Welfare Officer, who purchase stock for the various free collection points within the College.

What are/were the rental rates for College rooms for its students residing in College outside of term?

  • 2013-14: Undergraduates (and graduates on W Staircase, Memorial Court) were charged a nightly rate of £20.40.
  • 2014-15: Undergraduates (and graduates on W Staircase, Memorial Court) are/were charged a nightly rate of £21.10.
  • 2015-16: Undergraduates (and graduates on W Staircase, Memorial Court) are/were charged a nightly rate of £22.00.

Graduates (except those on W Staircase, Memorial Court) are/were on a 12 month lease.  For those students, who do not incur the nightly rate charge, or who do not hold a 12 month lease, the information is exempt under section 40(2) and (3), Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Are/were rental rates inclusive of bedder services?

  • Yes

What bedder services are included in rental rates?

  • For undergraduates (and graduates on W Staircase, Memorial Court) rubbish bins are emptied daily, communal areas are cleaned daily, and rooms are cleaned weekly.  For graduates (except those on W staircase, Memorial Court) communal areas are cleaned twice weekly. 

Have there been any changes in the frequency of bedder services in the last three years?

  • The College does not hold this information.

 

Staff

  • The College’s policy is to pay more than the ‘living wage’ for all contracted staff, permanent staff and those on zero hours contracts.
