Anna Philpott’s lab, based in the Hutchison/MRC Research Centre at Addenbrookes Hospital, is interested in the molecular regulation of the balance between cell proliferation and differentiation during development.  To this end, the group investigates division and differentiation in both Xenopus frog embryos and embryonic stem cells.  Our goal is to manipulate these processes to enhance production of cells for treatment of diseases such as Parkinson’s, and to develop novel therapies to induce remission in cancers of the nervous system.
