Clare Voices
Clare Voices is the college's best non-auditioned choir. We sing a huge variety of music, ranging from Fauré's Requiem to The Lion King. This is backed up by weekly rehearsals and regular performances.
This year we've continued to deliver, and not just in the squash and biscuit department! In the first term we did a concert of Christmas songs and carols (performed in November), as well as some carol singing around Cambridge which raised some money for charity. In the following term we performed a recital, followed by a joint service with the chapel choir, which was another roaring success for us. We will be finishing the year with a concert of popular songs and hopefully a garden party.
We are an enthusiastic group that prides itself in having an enjoyable atmosphere. But don't take my word for it! Here are some rather nice quotes from our members:
"I've had so much fun at Clare Voices... I've really enjoyed the challenge of singing some difficult pieces, but in a relaxed and sociable way."
"Clare Voices is such a lovely group of people - everyone is friends with everyone and we all support each other as we get better and better!" "I'd say that a good 50% of the songs that get stuck in my head are ones from Clare Voices."
